Animal’s name: Romeo Age (years): 10 years Weight (pounds): 17.8 Spayed/Neutered: neutered Sex: Male Coat: Smooth Color: Red Adoption fee: $50 Romeo’s Mom had him since he was 8 weeks old, she lost her housing, and tearfully she turned him over to a Kansas shelter.  Kansas shelter’s do not have the resources that Colorado Shelters do, so the call to help Romeo live, was sent out across the plains.  Romeo was picked up by CARE, and began the journey across Kansas and into Colorado.  Romeo arrived safe and sound, and was ready to start his new life.  He lives up to his name, he is a lover.  His previous Mom took very good care of him, he had a dental and only lost one tooth, he is heartworm negative, and current on his vaccines.  If you are looking for a love bug, just call out OH Romeo, Oh Romeo, and fill out the application. This Colorado Sweetheart is a Colorado Dachshund Rescue friend. All of our dogs, are spay and neutered, up to date on vaccines and are heartworm negative and on preventative. Most also have a dental done. We rehome close to 100 Dachshunds each year, and save many of them from certain death at local shelters. By working with local shelters, we are able to give them a second chance to find their new forever homes.
